She stole one of Star Way's icons and uses it as an avatar, but she took off the Lyokofreak.net words, or got it without the words.

I'm gonna slightly mention something to her, telling her to take it off, ask Erynn if she can use it or credit her.

Um...I hope that doesn't mean that you think alot of us here are Art Thiefs. ^^

Anyway, I think I know what you mean. Rest assured though, if anyone on the forum is found to be stealing artwork, they will be dealt with. Incidentally...this is also a good place to let others know if you see their artwork being appropriated by other members on other forums. We can only hope to battle art thieves by banding together against them.

X) It's okay. I knew what you meant. ^^ If you want to keep some art thieves at bay and make your art less likely from being stolen, try adding watermarks and signatures to your pieces. It's only a deterent, mind you, not a definitive shield against them, but it definitely helps.

Jerk...I can't believe people. I gave credit to LF for the avatar I use on my forums (the one I'm using right now)...and the banner in my sig...since I wanted it to feel just like I was at LF =P

But, yeah, codelyoko.fr has my avis on their site. They put them up before I started watermarking them. (They did credit me though, in case you missed that.)

Thank goodness I found this thread! I just hit the main site to look at the fan art and I'd hate to say this to you mew but you got hit by yet ANOTHER art thieve. Someone is passing you're "I have to wear this?!" picture as your own and its really sickening to see such blatant dishonosty.

Now if that passage seems a wee bit familiar to you guys, that's cause someone had copied and paste the Retelling Series there word for word! To make matters worse, many people did not know better! The user was praised for having the best fic on the fourms and was called a GENIUS for giving Yumi an older brother as if she was the one who created Jin! Art stealing is bad in itself but copying and pasting a person's story and basking in praise that was not earned is just horrible. I can only imagin the anger that I would experience if someone tried to steal my radioplays which are a my signature trademark as I'm the only one who makes audio productions about CL right now.

The theif long since stopped after I caught onto their scheme and the incident is pretty much over for me. However, my heart goes out to star, mew, chibi and other hard working artist that have to put up with this immature BS on a constant basis. Seeing your artwork being posted under another name is just a huge slap in the face and a total act of disrespect.

I was on the same thread with mew at the time when chibi-jen's artwork was being stolen and we both pointed it out. At first I thought this would be an isolated incident but with these recent events, I was proven DEAD wrong. The biggest problem is that our resources are rather limited in fighting back.

That's not good enough. It's still art theft even if you give the original artist/writer credit and let everyone know it's not yours. You still have to get that artist's permission to use their pieces. I'd suggest you take down whatever it is that you're using until you have the original creator's permission.
