Dungeons and Dragons online text good

Hey does anyone know a good D&D text based online game that's decent? I'm trying to find it online so my friends and I can play instead of going to each others house. Anyone know a site?

You could start here if you want to play something like a Mud. They are all text based, but it won't be just you and your friends playing. Depending on the one you pick, there might be around 50 or there might be a few hundred or more playing.

Most dungeon-crawling MUDs are D&D based I believe. Realms of Despair has always been my favorite mud. I still log on every now and then. Achaea is another one that I used to be really into, but RoD is better.

There's also Nethack which is a roguelike. It's not multiplayer but you can watch other people play. Once you get the hang of it, it's seriously addictive.
