I tend to agree with this. Is there a particular reason why you have so firmly decided to go with Mac? If you're truly worried about buying expensive things, PCs are cheaper and frankly they can do all that Macs can.

Just a warning.
I'm ass-tired, my reasoning sucks at one in the morning.
...
Hm, I wouldn't call my decision firm, I'd just say I've grown to like Apple computers. I like PCs too, and I've used them all my life, but Macs are just comfortable for me.
I can't really back that up with anything else--I like them, for a lot of reasons, ha-ha. It might be the shallow reasons ("They're pretty!" or "They're different and new to me!") or even the not-so-shallow ("[Insert Non-Shallow Reason]." or "[Insert Another Non-Shallow Reason]!")
I worry over petty things, and ultimately I'll be buying something I like and have been wanting for a long time.
So, uh...
Damn, I'm tired. D ;
I can't think straight.
I'll end this childishly saying "ASA WANT MAC, ASA GET MAC."
Still debating on Pro or 'Book, though.
Siigggghhhh.
Maybe I should move this to the Macfourm place that, like, doesn't like me. : /

My sister got a Macbook Pro (I think it's a pro, anyways...) for college, and she seems to like it a lot. We got the highest-end one we could, both because she's in film school and because it keeps longer that way. But Macs are generally good about having long lifespans, anyways.
Also, the MacBook has the only remotely decent trackpad I've seen. Multitouch scrolling is a nice touch.
idkmybffasantewaa wrote:You know, on and off I've considered Linux, and it is free and you're able to smack it onto just about anything. I was thinking about putting it on my old laptop simply because I'd finally have an up-to-date system, but...
Yes, the TLC, I'm not the most maternal girl around, flesh our a crapload of chips and ram. I've read into Linux a little bit, and it seems like it would take some time, patience, and general ability to do some trial and error to get it working properly.
I dunno, I'm still in the thinking process, I know people who use all of the systems so I'm asking around, trying to see the pros and cons of each, ha-ha.
Windows would be the very last resort, so it's either Linux or OS X.
Siggghh, but the only thing beating against Linux is, y'know, getting it on its feet, OS X has price on it's rear (which I'm slowly worrying less about, Mom finally got back on her feet recently) and Windows just all over the place.
-stabs something-
Oh! Thank you guys, by the way. : 3
With numerous reports in recent weeks of new hardware releases from Apple and low stocks of a number of current-generation models, Apple watchers have been waiting on edge for new products to make their appearance. Attention has naturally focused on Tuesdays, a frequent day of the week for Apple to release new products, so speculation has been on the increase again today.
Earlier today, Newsweek's Dan Lyons issued a teaser post on his "Fake Steve Jobs" blog claiming that Apple is planning a product release tomorrow and poking fun at Daring Fireball's John Gruber, who has occasionally had accurate inside information just prior to product announcements.
Can't tell you what, obviously. But there's something brewing. Gruber doesn't know about it, but the people we care about are being briefed in advance. Stay close to your Mac or iPhone, and have your credit card ready.
Gruber later responded with a brief post carrying a very lengthy headline listing a multitude of new products possibly on the table for release tomorrow:
- Redesigned plastic MacBooks
- Redesigned "impressive" iMacs
- Mac mini updates, including one based on Mac OS X Server
- Multi-touch "Magic Mouse"
- A multi-touch "trackpad gadget" for desktop Macs
MacRumors has similarly heard whispers over the past few days of new iMacs, MacBooks, and possibly Mac minis scheduled for release tomorrow, but we have been unable to confirm any of the reports.
