Computer problem

Postby captainratchet » Wed Nov 30, 2005 8:44 pm

Every time i turn my computer on, the disk drive starts beeping, and it takes me to a screen that says press F1 to reboot. I press it, and it does the same thing, any help?

need some more info. mainly, what kind of computer it is (if its custom built, what make and model of motherboard is in it?) and exactly how many beeps are there? sounds like a BIOS issue to me. with the extra info, I could probably track down the beep codes for your system.

No.

It is a dell XP flat-screen.
The comp turns on lke normal. But does not go past the loading screen. It does this:
Loading PhP descriptors...done...
error, press F1 to reboot.
I press F1, and it says: Press F1 to reboot.

Eeek! That could be bad... Have you tried searching the help database on the Microsoft website (or even called their support hotline)? They may have answers for you.

Tried both, My dad works a dell, and we have network support, but they say we have to pay 400$ to use software support.
And I have DSL wireless.

Well, that's inconvenient... What about asking the people at, like, CompUSA or Geek Squad?

I had almost the same problem, I would say that windows would not load. Try to Reformat the computer (thus losing everything on it).

It starts on the Dell dimensions loading page, and does not even gp to the user select page which will then go to the desktop. It is right after the bootup.

I fixed the computr.
We had to buy a new hard drive, although, we got it free because the warranty covered it.
