2. The real reason Franz went crazy was after he realized that it would have been a whole lot easier to simply not program in hitpoints and just make everybody invincible. He tried to fix it, but the PHP code had grown so complex that he couldn't remove those sections without breaking everything else. The effort in attempting such distracted him from his reverse-the-gravity-by-the-digital-sea project.

Obviously, the little Newton's cradle that used to relax him every Monday eventually fell into the holosphere and got stuck in the RTTP thingy, which meant he couldn't do an RTTP to get it back. Its as simple as that.
